'n Wood Acres is a privately owned boarding and breeding
facility. We are located just south of Rhinelander, WI. Our
home and barns are set on 23 acres of rolling hills. Our main
barn consists of 9 10x12 box stalls and a 12x14 foaling stall.
There are two large paddock areas and a main pasture out of
this barn. We also have a separate Stallion barn and another
7-stall barn where we keep our mares. All of our horses have
lots of pasture to run and play in, including our stallions.
We have an additional 40 acres that we use to produce our
hay crop for the winter. If we're not at the shows in late
June and July, we're on the tractors, making hay!
We only
breed a few foals each year and carefully select stallions
for their sires. Our mares are out of bloodlines from champion
stallions such as Wing Commander, Supreme Sultan, Sultan Santana,
Valley View Supreme, Anacacho Denmark, and The Color of Fame.
We are kind of an odd-ball farm, in that we are breeding to
produce horses for the art of Dressage and the all-versatile
Sports Horse. Yes! Saddlebreds can do these things
too. Saddlebreds were once one of the top dressage breeds.
With the importing of the Warmblood breeds into the States,
that has been forgotten. One of our stallions, One Fine Guy
was Grand Champion of the Wisconsin Pinto Shows and approved
by the American Warmblood Registry.
I like
color, so we breed for pintos, palominos, and the buckskin
color. We do, however, have some beautiful solid chestnuts,
blacks and bays. We are currently standing two stallions.
One Fine Guy, a black and white Pinto Saddlebred stallion
and Time's Rhythm and Blues, a Palomino Saddlebred out of
the Cremello, "Shannon's Flight Blue".
